Discipline

Phygital Football

Format

Two stages: digital and physical

The digital stage

A football simulator featuring four representatives from each club. Two compete in the first half, two in the second half. The game consists of two halves of four minutes each, with pairs of players switching at half-time.

The physical stage

5×5 mini-football on a real field. Teams compete with four outfield players and one goalkeeper per club. Matches consist of two halves of five minutes each.

Amount of participants

Teams of 8 athletes

Basic rules

Goals scored in the digital and physical stages are combined to determine the match winner.

If the score is tied after both stages, a penalty shootout is held on the field. Each club takes three penalties from the 6-meter mark. If the score remains level, the shootout continues until one team scores one goal more than the other after an equal number of attempts.

To advance to the next stage, a team must demonstrate skill in both digital and physical football formats.
