Games of the Future 2026 launches its volunteer program in Astana
Games of the Future 2026 has officially opened applications for its volunteer program, offering candidates the chance to become part of the world’s largest phygital tournament – due to be held in Astana from July 29-August 9.
Volunteers are a key element in the hosting of the tournament and will be involved in core operational areas, including working with participants and spectators, media interaction, accompanying sports delegations, and practical support for events in both sports and esports venues.
Organizers say the volunteer program aims to develop a culture of volunteerism and offer young people practical experience in staging international events. It will also ensure a high level of service, coordination, and communication throughout the tournament. Volunteer participation also helps to strengthen Astana's image as a modern and technologically advanced city, and boosts Kazakhstan's international recognition as a host of large-scale events.
Volunteers will receive official uniforms, souvenir products, and certificates of participation in an international project. They will also gain practical experience working at a tournament that brings together physical and digital sports, along with training conducted to international standards.
Basic requirements include a minimum age of 16, English proficiency at B2 level or above, the ability to work in a team, plus availability for the full duration of the event.
Applications are open until June 30, 2026 and forms are available here (link). Candidates interested in Team Leader roles are encouraged to apply early, as shortlisting for these positions has already begun.
Successful candidates will take part in two stages of training in May and June, followed by on-site training at venues in July ahead of the Games.
