Dota 2 is back at GOTF 2026 – with a $US1 million prize pool!
Mark your calendars: Dota 2 is returning to Games of the Future 2026, and it's bringing a huge million-dollar prize with it. The action goes down July 29-August 9 in Astana, Kazakhstan — and if last year was anything to go by, you won’t want to miss it.
The world's best squads will be facing off at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace, a 5,000-seat arena in the heart of the city that has seen many epic battles over the years.
Dota 2 remains one of the most popular disciplines at the Games of the Future – the 2025 edition in Abu Dhabi pulled in over 40 million viewers worldwide. Team Win ran through the entire contest without dropping a single game.
"We are thrilled to bring Dota 2 back to the Games of the Future,” says William Al-Badeesh, Publisher Relations Manager at Phygital International, which oversees the tournament. “As one of the most widely played and passionately followed esports titles in the world, Dota 2 represents the very highest level of competitive play. We’re excited to welcome the world’s best teams to Astana this year for what promises to be another exceptional competition.”
GOTF 2026 will feature eight disciplines in total, with team announcements, qualification routes, and broadcast details dropping soon on the official GOTF MOBA PC web page.
And you can still catch up with all the action from last year’s competition in Abu Dhabi on Phygital+, the official broadcast channel for all things phygital.
